- Partnership data: invite codes used, partner connection status.
- Usage data: feature interactions, session timing, and in-app events.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to provide, maintain, and improve PearUp.
- Authenticate your account and keep sessions secure.
- Deliver AI-generated chat responses and relationship insights.
- Apply your chosen privacy tier settings to control what your partner's AI can access.
- Diagnose issues, monitor performance, and improve the service.
- Send transactional communications (e.g., account updates, security alerts).
4. Privacy Tiers and Partner Data Sharing
PearUp's three-tier privacy system gives you direct control over what crosses the partner boundary.
Level 1 (Private): only your AI sees the message — never shared with your partner or their AI.
Level 2 (Personal): your AI may use this to gently influence your partner's AI, but the source is never revealed.
Level 3 (Shared): both partners and both AIs can see this content explicitly.
You choose how to classify each message. All messages default to Level 1 (Private) unless you change the setting.
5. AI-Powered Features and Processing
PearUp uses AI to power chat responses, contextual memory retrieval, and personalized relationship guidance features.
To deliver these features, selected message and account context is processed by AI providers acting as our service providers.

- Anthropic (Claude): receives message content and relevant in-app context needed to generate AI responses.
- OpenAI (Embeddings): receives message text to generate vector embeddings used to retrieve relevant prior context.
- We do not sell your message content, and AI processing is performed only to operate and improve PearUp features.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data and chat history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at pearupsupport@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe subject to legal obligations.
7. Service Providers and Data Sharing
PearUp relies on third-party providers for authentication, database infrastructure, hosting, and AI processing. These providers process data on our behalf to operate the service.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising purposes.
- Supabase (Authentication and Database): account details, authentication tokens, profile data, partnership records, and application data you submit.
- Anthropic (AI Generation): message content and context required to generate AI outputs.
- OpenAI (Embeddings): message text transformed into embeddings for semantic retrieval and relevance matching.
- With your consent: when you explicitly request or approve a share.
- Legal requirements: when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of company assets.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, row-level security on our database, and JWT-based authentication to protect your information.
The security of your data is important to us, but no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
9. Children's Privacy
PearUp is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete the account.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you.
